Transformer Securement.

  • When loading the grey cylinder-shaped transformers, timbers (2×4’s or 4×8’s) may be place on the pallets as illustrated below to get down pressure on more than one pallet at a time.
  • The front and rear pallets must have two straps
    • One behind the transformers and one in front of the transformers on the front of the trailer to prevent the center pallet from sliding out and off the trailer during braking
    • We must do the same on the rear of the trailer to keep the center pallet from walking out backwards.
  • When loading the green (square shaped) transformers, we should use two straps over the front and rear transformer.
  • One strap may be used over the center ones.
  • Trip straps should be used on the front and rear transformers also.
