- Secure the front row of pallets with two 4-inch straps.
- Secure the rear row of pallets with two 4-inch straps.
- All pallets between the front and rear pallets are then secured with a single 4-inch strap.
- Use two additional straps in an X pattern over the front of the load and in the rear of the load to prevent shifting.
Points to Remember:
- Any pallet that is unblocked (not touching something in on the front side of the pallet) needs to be secured with 2 straps.
- Pallets that are not wrapped in plastic, such as shingles, must be checked to ensure that every piece on the pallet has downward pressure from a strap, blocking, or another piece of cargo. Sometimes the top layer on pallets must be moved to get down pressure on each piece.
